My very FIRST Too Faced palettes! I was so excited! I got them during a sale and got them each for $18. I could not wait to get them. Then they finally arrived. I was so excited!
Ahhh, aren't the BEAUTIFUL. I could not wait to play with them. Then, the disappointment set in. These arn't all that great? What is the rave all about?
Well, I will go over my thoughts more thoroughly as you read, but my first impressions. Blah! Here is a video showing you why my initial impression was that way.
And, my first impression of the pigmentation still stands. I'm the kind of girl who likes a bold look with ease, like with my Karity palette, one swipe of my brush on a color is plenty for an eye. But, I think with Too Faced there is a little learning curve, yes, it's not as pigmented, more money for a lot less, and more fall out. But I'm not super upset over my purchase since I got them for 50% off and with the nice tin palette it will be perfect for travel. But normally you're going to pay $36 for the Too Faced palette and $29 for that BIG Karity palette. I'm still going to stick with Karity for eyeshadows. I've used other Too Faced products and fell in love. I just am not the biggest fan of the eyeshadows. The plus side? You'll walk around smelling like peanut butter, and the tin palette is GREAT for traveling. But, I won't be repurchasing. I don't need the big name brand to make me happy. I'm plenty fine with my other eye shadows that work 10 times better. But I have been able to make some pretty cute looks with the Too Faced palette, and since it does lack the pigmentation, it's good for really light and simple looks instead of my normal in your face bright and colorful looks I normally go for.
